Perhaps someone mods it in at some point or the devs put it in later but no guarantees. Theres currently no way to disable the timer or the ghost.
Im not a fan of Steam Hopefully this will come here :) Oct. Maybe in a few months, someone will develop Frozlunky 2, and youll be able to disable the timer with it, but right now, there isnt any way to banish it.
